Microsoft clarifies: Activision games will be released on PlayStation after the acquisition

Since when Microsoft has announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, One of the most recurring questions from the press and the players is “ but Call of Duty and the other franchises will continue to arrive on the PlayStation and Nintendo platforms?”

Initially pHil Spencer stated that the company would honor the existing agreements with Sony, Especially regarding the Call of Duty franchise and in the past few hours the president and vice -president of Microsoft, Brad Smith wanted to confirm in a rather definitive way that the plans plan to continue to make these franchise multiplatform, explicitly citing Call of Duty e Playstation, in his long post published on the Americaa company website.

“ First of all, some commentators have asked if we continue to make popular content available such as Activision Call of Duty on competing platforms such as Sony’s PlayStation. The obvious concern is that Microsoft can make this title available exclusively on the Xbox console, undermining the opportunities for Sony Playstation users.
To be clear, Microsoft will continue to make Call of Duty and other popular Activision Blizzard titles available on PlayStation for the duration of any existing agreement with Activision.

And we are committed to Sony to make them available also on PlayStation beyond the existing agreement and in the future, so that Sony fans can continue to have fun with the games they love ”.

What can be seen from the post is that, unlike the previous Spener declarations, the plan of Microsoft It plans to continue keeping Call of Duty (and other series) on Sony platforms even after the expiry of the previous agreements with Activision, which according to rumors should end between 2023 and 2024.
